Eye in the Sky began acquiring skills in the art/science of aerial photography in December of 1991. Our first aerial photos were taken using an eighteen foot mini-blimp. Since 1991 our goal has been to become the regions premier aerial photography firm. In 1996 considerable progress towards that end was made as we upgraded our 35mm SLRs to medium format cameras. Larger cameras require much greater lifting power so hoisting the gear via helicopter (rotor wing) or fixed wing aircraft became necessary. The inherent vibration (and thus loss of sharpness) these aircraft transmit to the camera was eliminated in 1998 with the addition of a gyro-stabilizer. The addition of the gyro and in 2001 a 6x7 (the largest field camera commercially available) has allowed Eye in the Sky to generate what we believe are some of the finest aerial images of the St. Louis area in today's market.

Today

We are located 20 miles Southwest of the greater St. Louis area in Labadie, Mo. We typically fly several times each week (weather permitting) using a Robinson R-22 helicopter or a Cessna 172 high wing aircraft. We have scanning, digital image manipulation and CD burning capabilities in house, and we use several, professional photo labs for film processing and prints.

Coverage Area

Eye in the Sky has taken 90% of our aerial photography over sites and projects within the 18 counties pictured. However we can quickly provide aerial photography of virtually any site in the Eastern Missouri - Southern Illinois region. Or if your needs require it, anywhere in the USA.
